CAMPBELL CHURCH OF CHRIST
Serving Solar to the Community
Campbell Church of Christ has been serving the community since founded in 1964. As a result of rapid growth, the Campbell Christian Schools is created in 1967. The organization has become the 3rd largest Christian school in the immediate area, with over 400 students and 600 congregation members.
As a growing organization, electricity usage matches pace. With the long-term goals of sustainability and financial security in mind, Superintendent Shawn Stuart, decides to explore solar. He finds Vista Solar, Inc. who helps secure a $0 down payment. In addition with a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Designing and installing this carport system with high-efficiency SunPower solar panels delivers 50 percent more energy than conventional panels in the same amount of space. Furthermore to space considerations, Stuart says, “We went with SunPower because in our research they were consistently considered the premier solar panel – and it’s a local company based in the Silicon Valley.”
As a result of the PPA agreement, Vista Solar monitors the system for the next 15 years to ensure it’s performing at maximum efficiency.
“By going solar, we have set our power price for the next 15 years. It’s a win-win for the environment, our kids and families, and our organization.” – Dr. Shawn Stuart Superintendent at Campbell Christian Schools
