Campbell Church of Christ was founded in 1964, followed in 1967 by the establishment of Campbell Christian Schools. In over 50 years of serving the community, the organization has become the third largest Christian school in the immediate area, with over 400 students and 600 congregation members.
As the organization has grown, so too has its electricity usage. With long term goals of sustainability and financial security in mind, Superintendent Shawn Stuart decided to explore solar and found a partner in Vista Solar. Vista helped secure a $0 down, 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) and got to work designing a carport system featuring high-efficiency SunPower solar panels, which deliver 50 percent more energy than conventional panels in the same amount of space.
In addition to space considerations, Stuart says, “We went with SunPower because in our research they were consistently considered the premier solar panel – and it’s a local company based in the Silicon Valley.”
As part of the PPA agreement, Vista Solar will monitor the system for 15 years to ensure it is performing at or above expectations.
